It seems like every few months I remember this blog and come back to it. This is also how I journal in my everyday life so I suppose that its not surprising. I also have a bit of an obsessive personality so things come and go regularly.
I feel very positive about 2011. Like things will happen, big and exciting things. But I don’t know what yet!
It is currently the middle of summer and I’ve been slumming it in trakkie daks, slippers and a hoodie. The La Nina event this year has been phenomenal, even this town has flooded. I am sure that in about two years we will be back into deep drought, and will talk about the current floods and “inland tsunamis” like they are distant memories. I can’t believe that there is flooding across the eastern states and northwestern parts of Australia, while there are wild bushfires in the southwestern parts. I wish I could feel better about global and local weather and climate patterns but I think this is the one area that I remain very concerned about.
On a totally superficial note, I am finding the constant rain really draining. Washing isn’t drying, and we don’t live in a humid climate but it is humid now and everything feels damp. The past year I have experienced a blizzard, flooding, and hail/thunder/lightning storms, the likes of which I have never witnessed before.
Onwards and upwards for 2011. I’ve decided that rather than new years resolutions, I am making “habit forming changes” each month. For January – eat breakfast every day, and drink 1.5-2L of water every day. So far, so good.
I might be back soon. If I keep getting into blogging.
